Bad habits

Over the edge and over the sea
Lives his future happiness to be.
He tries to reach it,
But he can’t swim.
He wants to taste it,
But he prefers gin.

Behind the darkness and behind the sun
Is his future family which he hasn’t yet found.
He wants to see them,
But in the dark he feels fear.
He wants to have them,
But he prefers a beer.

Through a long forest and a small little path
Is his lost smile and his lost laugh.
He wants to have that again,
But he doesn’t know any joke.
He would like to be happy,
But he prefers a good smoke.

Over a snow hill, under the wing of a dove
Waits his health and of course his love.
He wants to get them,
But he can’t ski.
He really needs them,
But still prefers some whisky.

He wants all that,
To be free like the rabbits,
But he is captured in misery
Because he has bad habits.
