It's Confirmed
Avril just posted a blog on her Myspace talking about her new album, confirming the rumors about the title and also about the release of the first single: "I'm calling the record "The best Dam Thing".....and the first single is called "Girlfriend"... the single comes out february....and the record in April". She also promised we [fans] will LOVE this album. Hopefully she's right.

Avril's MySpace Blog
Hey guys!!!!!!!
For those of you who don't know, I just did TRL and The Today Show to talk about the song "Keep Holding On" that I wrote for the movie "Eragon". And I did a bunch of radio interviews yesterday. Anyway I keep getting asked about my record and what it is called....so I wanted to give u guys all the info directly....
so.... I'm calling the record "The best Dam Thing".....and the first single is called "Girlfriend"... the single comes out february....and the record in April.......I promise you guys will LOVE this record, it is my favorite one!!! And I can't wait!!!!! It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, agressive, confident, cocky in a playful way....all the good stuff. This record will make a great live show, and that's what I had in mind while writing it! My last tour helped inspire me. So because I am a touring artist and spend so much of my time playing live shows, I wanted to make sure the songs were fun. Fun for the fans and myself. I will only have like 3 slow songs on the record. yay!! I am working on my last song right now in the studio. I should be all wrapped up by Moday in time for the Christmas holidays. So I will check in with u guys soon.
xoxo avril

Avril Lavigne's third studio album has been christened "The Best Dam Thing" and will be released in April via RCA. First single "Girlfriend" will hit U.S. radio outlets in February. "I promise you guys will LOVE this record -- it is my favorite one," she writes on her MySpace.com site. "And I can't wait! It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, aggressive, confident [and] cocky in a playful way ... all the good stuff."
Lavigne says she was inspired to make a more up-tempo album after spending "so much of my time playing live shows. I wanted to make sure the songs were fun -- fun for the fans and myself. I will only have like three slow songs on the record."
"The Best Dam Thing" will be the follow-up to 2004's "Under My Skin," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and launched the Hot 100 hits "My Happy Ending" (No. 9) and "Don't Tell Me" (No. 22). The album has sold 2.93 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Lavigne also contributed the new song "Keep Holding On" to the RCA soundtrack for "Eragon," which just opened in U.S. theaters.

Deryck talked to MTV recently about his involvement on Av's next record "The Best Damn Thing." Deryck said, ""I produced a couple of songs, but I don't know if they're going to make the record. The way she does records, she'll record, like, 25 songs and then just pick the best." Presumably, he meant to say "the best damn songs." Read more about this in The Best Damn Avril Forum on The Best Damn Avril Fansite with The Best Damn Avril Fan Community. And yes I plan on milking this title for all its worth - THANK YOU Avril for picking The Best Damn Album Name Possible!!!!!

Avril Lavigne a descris noul articol ca fiind: `rapid, amuzant, tanar, strengaresc, increzator, obraznic in sensul muzical... toate chestiile bune`.

Damn" to be Big
MTV and VH1 are both hyping "Best Damn Thing" as one of the big albums of 2007. Of Avril they say, "Lavigne has undergone an image makeover almost as radical as Clarkson's, from bratty teen to glamorous rocker/model. She said her new album is full of 'fun and cool' songs."
