YAM! Magazine about new songs.Journalists of the german magazine YAM! traveled recently to America, in order to attend the performance of the upcoming album "The Best Damn Thing" in Los Angeles for the world-wide press. There, the YAM! journalists were the only representatives of a german magazine. On stage of the "Hyde Lounge" Avril performed some songs of her album. The current issue 06/07 of YAM! published information about songs on the record.
Avril opened with her first single "Girlfriend". After that she performed "I Can Do Better" - her favorite song of the new album. She told the reporters, that she wrote and sung this song when she was drunk. On "I Can Do Better" Travis Barker of +44 plays the drums as well as on the track "The Best Damn Thing". After "Everything Back But You" Avril played a much calmer song: "When You're Gone", which is a rock ballad. "You Make Me So Hot" follows. This track is one of the songs Avril worked on with Evan Taubenfeld. The magazine writes, that the record sounds much happier than the two other albums and the good mood is honest. Avril introduced the next song "Runaway" as a song that could be called 'The Summer Song' to the audience. She explained, that this song is about driving around with the car and having fun. Hip-Hop-Beats are playing in the first ten seconds of the song "I don't have to try", writes the magazine. But this beats fall silent after this 10 seconds.
